We Are a Family of Five with a Stroller and Four Bags. What Do We Actually Book?

Most families figure out the vehicle problem after they land. Here is how to solve it before you leave home.

You booked five flights. You have four checked bags, a stroller, two carry-ons, and somewhere in the mix, a child who will need a car seat. Now you are looking at the Uber app wondering whether an XL can actually hold all of that.

The honest answer is no. A standard Uber XL seats up to six people, but it does not account for luggage. Once you add four large suitcases, two carry-ons, and a folded stroller to a seven-passenger SUV, the space is gone before everyone is seated.

Here is what actually fits in each vehicle we operate, and which one makes sense for your specific group.

We run a full fleet out of Ocoee. For a family of five traveling with serious luggage, two vehicles can do the job well. One handles it comfortably. The other handles it with room to spare.

For most families of five with four bags and a standard travel stroller, the Escalade ESV is the right call. The rear cargo area holds four large checked bags with the stroller folded flat. Everyone rides in genuine comfort with room for backpacks at their feet.

If you are traveling with a larger or frame-style stroller that does not fold small, or if you are adding a fifth checked bag and a cooler, book the Sprinter. You will not need to play luggage Tetris at the airport curb.

Florida law is direct about this. Under Florida Statute 316.613, children age five and under must ride in a federally approved child restraint device on every trip. Children age three and under require a separate carrier or integrated seat. Children age four to five require a booster seat, separate carrier, or integrated seat.

MCO is the ninth busiest airport in the United States. The ground transportation level is loud, crowded, and confusing if you have never navigated it while managing two kids and four bags. We want to be clear about this so there is no confusion when you are comparing options. Our luxury sedans are excellent for two passengers traveling light. They are not the right fit for five people with four bags and a stroller. If you book a sedan for this trip, the bags will not fit. Book the SUV or the Sprinter from the start.
